Boat trips 'are a highlight of holidays in Lanzarote'
People on holiday in Lanzarote should take a boat trip to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura, an expert has advised.
Stella Kaye, writing for Helium, said a journey across the water can give tourists a rare chance to spot some of the local wildlife.
This includes dolphins, which are regularly seen in the Straits of Bocainia between the islands, as well as pilot whales.
Ms Kaye noted one of the best ways to get up close with the creatures is to make the trip on the glass-bottomed catamaran that departs Lanzarote from Puerto Del Carmen.
There is another option for those staying in other resorts, as a different boat sails from Playa Blanca.
And it is not all about the marine life, with the writer recommending holiday makers in Lanzarote take a look at the uninhabited island of Lobos, which is now a nature sanctuary.
Annie Bennett, writing for the Telegraph, recently named Papagayo beach as the best coastal spot in Lanzarote.
