Beautiful beach could be worth booking Lanzarote holiday for

A Canary Island beach, said to be one of the region's most beautiful, may lead scores of tourists to book a holiday in Lanzarote.

Annie Bennett, writing for the Telegraph, nominates Papagayo as perhaps the best of all the coastal retreats on the island.

It's hidden away in Los Ajaches nature reserve - an area of volcanic hills - on the southern tip of the island," she explains, before adding it is regarded as the most desirable spot by many people.

However, some consideration on when to go may be wise, with Ms Bennett noting Papagayo can be packed during peak times.

Therefore, the end of the summer vacation season this week could be a blessing in disguise, with a Lanzarote holiday booked after this time likely to be more peaceful.

Nicola Iseard of the Guardian recently recommended Lanzarote as a top late-summer destination as it stays warm deep into the autumn.
