Aston Villa to team up with Lanzarote?
Premier League veterans Aston Villa could be about to turn to Lanzarote to become one of their newest team sponsors, which may then encourage more people in the Midlands to take holidays to the popular Canary Island.
The Villains have outlined their plan following the conclusion of a meeting in London between representatives of the outfit and councillor of tourism, Astrid Perez.
Lanzarote Guidebook reports that if the deal is approved, the Canary Island's tourist board would receive a new portal for promotion, while Lanzarote's training camps could benefit from regular visits from Aston Villa's star players, Ms Perez noted.
Furthermore, holidays to Lanzarote could prove more attractive to Aston Villa's 700,000 followers on the club's social media pages.
News of the possible partnership follows on from the Canarian Government revealing that €1,426 million (£1,229 million) has been recorded in Lanzarote's tourist expenditure in the first nine months of the year.
Such a figure represents the highest amount that the government has recorded in the past four years.
