Are Brits getting to Lanzarote villas quicker?

Those who have taken flights to such destinations as Lanzarote villas may have noticed they are not waiting in the airport's destination lounge for long.

According to figures released by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), there was an average delay on flights in the country's travel hubs of just ten minutes.

Such a statistic is the lowest first quarter figure that has been recorded on the topic for over 15 years, as well as down by seven minutes compared to 2010's same period.

Furthermore, 82 per cent of scheduled flights at the UK airports that were monitored achieved on-time departures, a rise of eight percentage points compared to the first quarter of last year.

Iain Osborne, the group director for Regulatory Policy CAA, commented: "We welcome this quarter's punctuality performance. However, the CAA believes that future improvements in performance through enhanced airport resilience and airspace efficiency are possible."

Soon, those who take flights to villas in Lanzarote could be able to surf the web while at 35,000 feet, thanks to plans by airline Monarch to make Wi-Fi available on its aircraft by next summer.
