Perhaps Ibiza's most famous bar, the Cafe del Mar is to welcome visiting families all summer.
In contrast to the island's often frenetic nightlife, the beachside cafe has become known for being one of the world's finest 'chill out' spots.
The cafe's construction predates the recent tourist boom on the island, having been built in 1980 by the celebrated Catalan architect Lluis Geell.
It has also been made world famous by the pioneering dance albums released under its name, whose ambient sounds and world music outlook helped to pioneer the 'chill out' genre.
Open from May to September, it gets busiest as the evening draws in. Holidaying families on their way back to the hotel after a day at the beach mix and mingle with clubbers getting ready for a night of fun, as they all enjoy the bar's mellow, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Seats on the terrace facing the sea are most popular, with diners watching the sun set beneath the waves.
