San Antonio holiday resort welcomes yacht race
According to Ibiza Spotlight, the race will be moved to picturesque San Antonio, a popular destination for family villa holidays on the other side of the island.
Beginning life as a nobleman's challenge to salt merchants, the race traditionally takes place during the Easter holidays and is expected to attract up to 300 racing yachts next year.
With Ibiza's main port undergoing renovations during the holidays, the organisers decided this year that visitors to San Antonio, with its quiet family villas, should be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to see 300 ships a-sailing-in.
Ibiza may be renowned for its non-stop partying but the San Antonio Bay area has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, which has seen it become increasingly popular for villa holidays.
