More Brits go to Ibiza: Ibiza

Figures released last week have shown a rise in British holidaymakers choosing to spend their holidays in Ibiza.

Airport figures show that after falling, the market is on the rise and more people are coming to Ibiza to for their break.

For the first seven months in 2007 a total of 652,077 Brits came to Ibiza, a 7.8 per cent increase from 2006.

Britons are the most regular visitors to the island, with German, Spanish, Italian, and French holiday makers all enjoying what the island has to offer.

The rising numbers of holiday makers taking a trip to Ibiza could continue into the winter months with amazing sunsets over San Antonio just one of the highlights.

Holiday makers can also see the underground Chapel of Santa Ines, which is said to have been popular amongst religious cults in the 16th and 17th centuries before the church at San Antonio was constructed.

Legend has it that a wooden statue of Santa Ins would reappear in the chapel, wherever it was taken.

Roberto Hortensius, president of the Hotel Federation, told The Ibiza Sun that the figures were great news for the island and that the British market was a key to the general increase of tourism on the island.
