Miracle remembered in Ibiza festival
Started to commemorate a local miracle, the event takes place on the first Sunday in May and comprises of a flower display and large procession.
The festival commemorates the day when locals who attended a mass in an old church on top of a hill remained unhurt when it collapsed and crumbled into the sea.
According to local legend, passing boats can hear the ringing of the church bells on stormy nights warning the sailors that they are close to the coasts.
The procession is very colourful and visitors staying in a family villa in Ibiza will not want to miss the event that sees locals showing off and dancing to music in the street.
Apart from unique cultural events such as this, holiday makers will find long walks and quiet relaxing days on the beach a strong attraction of any Ibiza holiday.
