Medieval festival in Ibiza
Eivissa's medieval festival begins in May and is a showcase for craft markets, magicians, puppets, clowns, minstrels and jugglers.
Colour and atmosphere fill the area to celebrate the city's declaration as a mankind heritage site in 1999.
The old quarter is transformed into a market containing nearly 100 stalls with a wide range of artisan trades that are demonstrated in person, including fire eaters.
Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs all used the city as a refuge and the festival is a cultural and historical event to recognise the history of the island.
Families will be entertained with children's games and falconry exhibitions and bells are tolled in the Ibiza Cathedral.
Jousts, Arabic dancing and music, acrobatics, jugglers and farm animals are all in attendance and add to the exciting nature of the event.
