Ibiza villa holidays 'go green'
According to the Independent, the island's tourism department is adopting an environmentally-friendly approach to future development.
Josefa Mari, head of Ibiza's tourism and economic department, told the publication: "We plan to reform our coastline and our nautical activities, to protect our maritime environment."
The report asserts that the typical holiday maker in Ibiza is now somebody like Penelope Cruz, who wants to combine luxury with political correctness on an Ibiza villa holiday.
Joan Cerda, Ibiza communications chief with a local ferry company, cites "a more upmarket tourism" as the future for the island.
Fans of the destination include singer James Blunt, who purchased his own villa in Ibiza in 2006.
The Daily Mail reports that Blunt's mother, Jane, selected the stunning villa for her famous son.
