For some it is an island of "rejuvenation and relaxation" and for a long time the country has "played host to those looking to escape the rat race and draw strength from the island's beauty and spirit".

It is popular with musicians and intellectuals, who happily mix with farmers and locals at the popular Eco Cafe - and the village still retains a strong hippy vibe that you can sense as soon as your drive through there in your hire car.
