Exploring the old town on an Ibiza villa holiday
What's On When notes that Eivissa Dalt Vila, or the old town, is a Unesco World Heritage Site that "retains a special, alternative atmosphere".
Much of the area's mysterious charm derives from its status as a sanctuary for those escaping the rule of Franco in the 1960s, according to the international entertainment resource.
Ibiza villa tourists exploring Eivissa Dalt Vila could include the archaeological museum - where they can learn about the Pitiusas Islands between the prehistoric periods and the Christian conquest in their itinerary.
And holiday makers with modern tastes could take in the contemporary art museum, the website suggests.
"A stroll through Dalt Vila's streets takes in the mighty stone walls and fortifications, among the best preserved in Europe, the soaring towers of Ibiza's gothic cathedral and the town hall, occupying a 16th-century Dominican convent," states the events guide.
Such a stroll could lead tourists into the path of singer James Blunt, who purchased an Ibiza villa in 2006.
