Wild flamingos seen in Florida
Nature fans may want to snap up villas in Florida in the near future to catch a glimpse of some rare animals.
Wild flamingos have been spotted across the Sunshine State in recent weeks, with kids from Alva Elementary School spotting one of the birds while on a field trip to Bunche Beach.
News-Press.com reported that the flamingo was seen feeding, resting and preening in the location, which is found near Sanibel Causeway.
Vince McGrath, a naturalist, pointed out to the news source that this particular flamingo only had a few traces of coral pink on its feathers, which could suggest that it is of a young age.
Another nine of the birds were also spotted flying north over Barefoot Beach near Bonita Springs, which should attract attention seeing as though Mr McGrath believes wild flamingos in Florida are now "rarer than rare".
People who book into Florida villas may also want to take time out to visit the popular Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
First Coast News reported that the attraction welcomed 751,942 guests in the last fiscal year ended September – the highest attendance figure recorded at the venue.
