Where to visit while taking holidays to Florida in 2012

Families deciding where to book their next getaway have been urged to snap up Florida villas to take in a trio of up-and-coming destinations.

TripAdvisor.com has listed three resorts in the Sunshine State in its top 15 US destinations on the rise for 2012 following comments from its travellers and editors.

For one, the organisation recommended that people visiting villas in Florida over the next 12 months take in the sights and sounds of Fort Myers.

While at this resort, Brits will be able to relax on golden beaches along the Gulf Coast or show their skills on the area's picturesque golf courses.

Meanwhile, "for travellers seeking some great Florida beaches without a mega-resort or theme park atmosphere, Pensacola might just be the place for a perfect weekend", TripAdvisor.com also stated.

For those looking to discover some of Florida's rich history or indulge in unique retail therapy, a trip to Saint Augustine should also be on the cards.

Traffic statistics analysed by TripShock.com recently have also revealed that Gulf Coast holidays are set to be in demand in 2012.
