Visit Florida villas in November for unique beach event

Families taking a trip to villas in Florida this November may be able to see some awe-inspiring sights if they visit the state's coastline.

This is because the Sunshine State's region of Sarasota County is to host the Siesta Key Crystal Classic Sand Sculpting Competition between November 10th and 14th.

Only the second such tournament, following a successful outing last year, the 2011 event will see 12 teams taking part in a chance to win £11,000.

The US, Europe and Canada are among the locations being represented in the beach-themed contest.

Brits who take a trip to Sarasota County once they arrive in Florida villas for the competition can also have the chance to get their photograph taken near to the sandy sculptures.

Demonstrations will also be taking place over the tournament, which could give holiday makers some ideas for when they try and make eye-catching sandcastles in the future.

Florida is also set to be host to concerts by Janet Jackson, Duran Duran and Sting over the autumn and winter months, which could lead to music fans looking for a holiday in the Sunshine State.
