Villas in Florida to become more sought after?

More people could be looking to snap up villas in Florida over the next couple of years, if new research is anything to go by.

The Visa Global Travel Intentions Survey 2011 has found that the US is among the top destinations which tourists around the globe would like to visit.

Over 11,000 people from 23 countries were studied in the research, with 20 per cent saying that they were keen to venture to America for leisure purposes.

Ross Jackson, head of cross-border business, Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa at Visa, noted: "With great cultural diversity, amazing scenery and a shopping paradise for holidaymakers, it is no surprise that one in five people say they are likely to visit the US in the next two years."

The UK and Japan were also popular destinations which holiday makers are hoping to visit in the near future, as were France and Italy.

Families who opt for a trip to the US will find plenty to entertain them if they seek out Florida villas.

The Sunshine State packs in an assortment of theme parks and sun-kissed beaches across such resorts as Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
