Villa in Florida can provide base for home hunters

People thinking of moving to the US or investing in a second home may wish to book a villa in Florida in order to go house hunting.

A report by the Financial Times names the Sunshine State as one of the best places in the world to splash out on property at the moment.

Indeed, it suggests the value of buildings in the region has fallen by as much as 40 per cent since the credit crunch kicked in.

"Buyers should look into this market because it probably represents the best value real estate in the world at the moment," Christopher Chadd of Property Frontiers tells the newspaper.

Findaproperty.com's Nigel Lewis agrees, adding attractions such as the Gulf Coast and DisneyWorld make Florida a desirable place to spend some time.

This could be achieved either through a holiday in a Florida villa or by travelling to the US in order to secure something more permanent.

Kissimmee tourist officials recently picked out the resort as one of the best places in the state to play golf, stating it boasts courses designed by the likes of Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.
