Use Mallorca villa as base for cycling holiday
Cyclists can secure a beautiful villa in Mallorca this autumn and take advantage of a change in airline rules to ride their own bike around the island.
Budget carrier Monarch has announced it is to introduce a pre-booking option to allow passengers to take their two-wheeled transport on scheduled flights to the Spanish resort.
Those planning on training through the colder months may be attracted by the year-round average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius on Mallorca.
Monarch is said to be charging £18.50 for the privilege of moving a bicycle between the UK and the holiday destination.
Tim Jeans, managing director at the company, says: "Monarch is committed to providing great customer care and service to all of its passengers and the option to pre-book the carriage of bicycles will be welcome news for cyclists."
The Independent recently described Mallorca as a calm and upmarket spot in which to enjoy a break.
