Universal Orlando to undergo major changes

Parents treating their children to holidays in Florida may want to check out the new features coming to Universal Orlando.

The popular theme park in the Sunshine State will be opening up new parts of the attraction, as well as bidding farewell to other facilities.

One of the main developments is that the current Wizarding World of Harry Potter section at Islands of Adventure is set to undergo an expansion.

"The announcement of our partnership with Universal to bring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to Hollywood and expand what already exists in Orlando is probably the best holiday gift we could give to the legions of Harry Potter fans worldwide," Barry Meyer, Warner Bros chairman and chief executive, said.

Meanwhile, families who have visited Universal Orlando at least once during their past holidays in Florida may be surprised to hear that the Jaws attraction will be closing in the new year.

The decision was made so that a major new facility can be created, officials at Universal Orlando acknowledged.

Holiday makers have had the chance to enjoy the facilities inside this in-demand theme park since it first opened its gates in 1990.
