The X Factor inspires flights to Florida villas?

More people look to be snapping up villas in Florida after seeing the state on ITV's The X Factor last weekend, new research has suggested.

The US destination of Miami was used as the backdrop of Kelly Rowland's 'judges houses' stage, which was viewed on television last Saturday (October 1st) and Sunday.

During that period, TravelSupermarket conducted research which indicated that the city had seen a 48 per cent rise in holiday searches.

The firm's study was based on searches which were carried out between 20:00 BST on Saturday and midnight on Sunday compared to the same time the week before.

Peter Smith, travel expert at TravelSupermarket, pointed out: "People enjoy being inspired by TV, celebrities and films for their holidays, so the concept of 'screenspiration' isn't a new trend. It in fact opens up a whole new world of possibilities that people might not have considered before."

Holiday makers who take up the chance to stay in Florida villas close to Miami will be able to indulge in such shopping experiences as the city's Design District and the expansive Aventura Mall during their visit.
