Those heading on Florida villa holidays in Orlando will have an endless choice of theme park rides to try out.

But perhaps one of the most exciting is the Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park.

Riders begin by gliding along an exotic river through the natural habitat of the dinosaurs, meeting leaf-eating species and their babies along the way.

But suddenly they veer of course and enter a restricted area where some of Jurassic Park's bigger creatures live.

As the predatory raptors break lose, visitors are flushed along the river through the chaos in an attempt to escape.

Suddenly, the giant tyrannosaurus rex emerges and the only way to escape is to take an 85-foot plunge into total darkness.

Around 1.5 million gallons of water are used on this monster ride, which is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Theme park junkies renting Orlando villas Encantada will be able to reach Islands of Adventure easily.

They will also be within a short drive of Florida's other main attractions, such as Disney World, Sea World and the Epcot Centre.

Encantada has its own catch and release fishing pond surrounded by walking trails and natural lakes, providing a welcome escape when the excitement of the theme parks become too much.
