Rent a Florida villa in the new year and head to Typhoon Lagoon
Families heading to Orlando to enjoy a Florida villa holiday in the new year may wish to put a trip to Typhoon Lagoon at the top of their itinerary.
The Disney water park is opening on January 9th after undergoing refurbishment so its attractions are sure to be better than ever. It has been closed since November 1st 2009.
It promises a "wild, wonderful and wet" adventure for visitors with some exciting flumes, pools and other watery attractions.
According to Disney legend, the park was created when a fierce storm rolled across the ocean, sending debris flying and causing ships to become stranded.
In its wake, it left a crazy network of twisting tides and rapids, which holiday makers are now free to explore.
Rides include the Humunga Kowabunga, which features three speed slides that plunge daredevils into darkness, and the Mayday Falls, which carries riders along in rubber rings through caves, waterfalls and rapids.
Typhoon Lagoon is situated next to the Epcot centre, so families staying in the Disney area will be able to visit both in quick succession.
They can also spend time at Disney's Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom, which are close by.
