Rent a Florida villa and learn about creepy crawly crime busters

CSI: Crime Scene Insects will give people on a Florida villa holiday the chance to get up close and personal with some of the best crime solvers.

Open throughout January 2010 at the Miami Science Museum, the exhibit explores the world of forensic entomology, or the use of insects to learn about crime scenes, in a fun way that is easy to understand.

The CSI series of programs has become increasingly popular with people of all ages, piquing a curiosity in many about the science behind crime scene investigations.

Carrion beetles, demisted beetles (flesh eaters), blowflies and maggots all have an important role to play in helping detectives determine what happened at a particular crime scene.

"There is a huge interest in crime scene investigations because of television shows, courtroom access and media coverage of criminal activities," said Sean Duran, vice president of exhibitions and programs for the Miami Science Museum.

"CSI offers our visitors a chance to go behind the scenes and learn first-hand how the natural behaviour of insects can be used as evidence in investigations."

Acting as the backdrop for CSI: Miami, the city boasts a great selection of entertainment for those on Florida holidays, who will be able to visit many of the sites featured on the popular show.
