Rent Gulf Coast villas to explore a "tropical island paradise"
Holiday makers planning to rent Gulf Coast villas this summer will have the opportunity to explore a "tropical island paradise".
Marco Island is located in south-west Florida, not far north of the Gulf Coast entrance to Everglades National Park and 15 miles south of Naples.
The local tourist board highlighted a number of activities on offer to people who visit the destination during a Florida holiday, such as fishing and boating.
Several companies offer sightseeing tours on the water, one of which provides the opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to work alongside naturalists studying the local bottlenose dolphin population.
People with a passion for fishing can try their luck at reeling in some of the various species that are found in Marco Island's waters, such as redfish, trout, snook and pompano.
The Naples, Marco Island and Everglades tourist board also revealed that there are several golf courses in the area, as well as wildlife reserves that provide a habitat for manatees, alligators, sea otters and other animals.
Gulf Coast villa guests planning to learn more about their destination can head to the new Marco Island Historical Museum.
