Orlando holidays offer thrills and spills for adults

All children dream of taking a Florida holiday and trying out all the major theme parks and attractions.

But according to one travel journalist, the sunshine state has much to offer adults as well as youngsters.

In an article for the Sun, Lisa Minot said now that children have gone back to school, adults can enjoy the attractions in Orlando at their leisure.

"Personally, I think Universal and SeaWorld are the absolute best places for adults wanting fun in the Florida sun this autumn," she remarked.

Both parks have recently opened thrilling new rides that may be unsuitable for little ones, but which adults will find exhilarating.

At SeaWorld, visitors can ride the Manta coaster, which propels them face down around a twisting, high-flying track above the water.

The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is the newest addition at Universal Studios and claims to be the most technologically-advanced rollercoaster in the world.

Ms Minot pointed out that even the children's rides at Universal and SeaWorld have a "healthy dose of adult humour".

"The Simpsons Ride is the absolute pinnacle of that achievement," she remarked.

Adults looking to enjoy the thrills and spills of the theme parks on an Orlando holiday this autumn could stay at the Mystic Dunes Leisure Resort, which is just minutes away from all the top attractions.

It also boasts an 18-hole golf course and is close to International Drive with its famous shops.
