Orlando holidays: Harry Potter attraction opening today

There will be some memorable new experiences on offer to families taking Orlando holidays this summer following today's (June 18th) opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure.

Fans of the smash hit book and movie series will be able to explore various areas within the new attraction, including locations such as Professor Dumbledore's office and the Gryffindor common room.

The selection of rides on offer includes the Forbidden Journey, which will bring visitors face to face with all sorts of magical creatures.

Families staying in Orlando villas will also be able to take on the Dragon Challenge and try out the Flight of the Hippogriff ride.

Visitors can then sit down for a meal at The Three Broomsticks before heading to some of the shops that feature in the Harry Potter books and films, such as Zonko's, Honeydukes and Ollivanders.

Holiday makers who spend a day at the Universal resort during an Orlando villa break can visit other attractions such as the Jurassic Park River Adventure and the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster.
