Orlando 'a popular destination for holiday makers'

Orlando was the chosen holiday destination for millions of people last year, according to new research, with villas in Florida having plenty appeal for a return stay this summer.

According to Visit Orlando, more than 51.5 million individuals explored the sights on offer in this area of the Sunshine State.

Such a figure makes the location the first in the whole of the US to reach the 50 million-plus marker, while also trouncing the 46.6 million holiday makers who made Orlando their choice of trip in 2009.

Gary Sain, president and chief executive of the tourist organisation, noted: "Visit Orlando launched aggressive global marketing campaigns [showing] that Orlando offers visitors something they can't get anywhere else - world-famous attractions, value for their money and an experience they will never forget."

Recently, a writer at TravelBite.co.uk also praised the sights on offer by booking Florida villas in Orlando.

They explained that the resort has a "pleasant climate" to relax in, as well as a big-city vibe for families to experience.
