New BA flights offer more choice for Gulf Coast holidays

British Airways (BA) is now making it easier for families to go on holidays in the Gulf Coast, Florida with the addition of new services to Tampa.

The carrier is increasing the frequency of its flights to the city from Gatwick Airport to five per week, just in time for the summer season.

Tampa airport is ideally located to access Gulf Coast holiday villas in destinations like St Petersburg, Clearwater and Sarasota.

BA also said the travel hub could act as a great alternative for those heading on holidays to Orlando and its Disneyland theme parks, which are just 90 minutes drive away.

Voted the third best airport in the US by readers of Conde Naste Traveller, the facility offers quicker transit than Orlando International Airport, allowing families to start their Florida holiday just that little bit earlier.

The hub is popular among domestic travellers, with most flying in from New York and Chicago, meaning queues at immigration are smaller.

Tampa itself was said to offer "a distinct Caribbean influence", with Ybor City being named as must-see for those looking to explore its cultural heritage.
