More people taking holidays in Florida

More holiday makers have been seeking out stays in Florida villas, with activity to remain high in the months to come.

This is according to statistics released by the Sunshine State's tourism agency Visit Florida, which revealed that the industry has had modest growth in 2011.

In September 2011, the volume of tourists to Florida was up by five per cent when compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, Visit Florida has revealed that the state is set to record up to 84 million visitors for the year as a whole.

Chris Thompson, the tourism agency's chief, pointed out: "The (2011) numbers are a pretty clear indication that although we're not totally out of the economic challenges that we've been facing for the last three or four years, maybe people see a little bit of a light at the end of the tunnel."

People who take last minute trips to villas in Florida have the chance to become wrapped up in the festive spirit, with the Walt Disney World theme park hosting Magic Mickey Mouse's Very Xmas Party Parade throughout December and Sea World presenting the Winter Wonderland ice show.
