Miami Dolphins entertaining people on Florida villa holidays

Sports enthusiasts visiting a Florida villa next month may wish to see what 'football' means to people on the other side of the Atlantic by checking out the Miami Dolphins.

The American Football team will be taking on the Buffalo Bills at their Land Shark Stadium on October 4th, as they get stuck into the new NFL season.

After enduring a torrid time in 2007 in which they racked up a dismal record of one win and 15 losses, the Dolphins bounced back last year topping their division and reaching the playoffs.

They have lost their first two games of the new season, but will be confident of turning things around, having led the New York Jets, New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills last term going into the playoffs last season.

The game against the Bills comes ahead of tough matches with the Jets and the New Orleans Saints, before away games against the Jets and the Patriots.

People on a Florida holiday hoping to discover more about US sport will find that NFL is one of the nation's favourite pastimes.

The Dolphins are the oldest major professional sports franchise in the state of Florida and enjoyed great success in the 1970s, when they won back-to-back Super Bowl titles in 1972 and 1973.
