Legoland Florida to have tributes to Cypress Gardens

Despite the Cypress Gardens theme park being transformed into a Legoland venue, Brits staying in Florida villas can still view signs of the former attraction.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, sights associated with the now defunct site will make a return, though this time in Lego form.

For instance, the famous Southern belles of Cypress Gardens will appear as statues near to the attraction's gazebo.

Created using 62,000 bricks, the Lego belles will don the same dresses which they were seen wearing during the boom days of Cypress Gardens.

Jill Swidler, marketing manager at Legoland, acknowledged: "The Cypress Gardens belles were a huge part of the original Cypress Gardens, so we had to pay some type of special homage to them.

"And, of course, we had to do that with Lego bricks."

Families booking up villas in Florida will be able to explore the new Legoland attraction from October 15th, with other eye-catching areas including Duplo Village, Miniland USA and Land of Adventure.
