Kissimmee 'will attract many people to holidays in Florida'
The city of Kissimmee has been highlighted by one expert as a location that will tempt a huge number of people to take holidays in Florida this year.
Stella Clery-Ackland, spokeswoman for the US Travel Association, says the Sunshine State – along with New York and California – will be the most popular destination among tourists heading across the North Atlantic in 2011.
She notes Florida has been desirable to travellers for about 20 years and this is unlikely to change.
"Kissimmee offers exceptional value for money, which is why we believe they will see significant growth in the central Florida market, as the British visitors are projected to be seeking more value for money," Ms Clery-Ackland admits.
Florida holidays are particularly popular with those taking long-term breaks and provide the ideal environment for families, the expert suggests.
STR is predicting a successful year for the US tourism sector, with accommodation occupancy due to rise by 1.8 per cent.
