Holidays to Florida 'proving popular in late summer'

When it comes to Brits trying to head abroad in late August, trips to Florida villas seem to be in demand.

This is after British Airways revealed its list of top getaway destinations for holiday makers hoping to jet overseas in late summer.

Some of the most popular places booked in August included New York, Barcelona, Rome and the popular Florida destination of Orlando, the airline acknowledged.

Claire Bentley, managing director of British Airways Holidays, commented: "Yet again the Great British summer has proved a complete wash out so we are seeing a heavy demand from our UK customers for last minute overseas holidays."

When it comes to heading to villas in Orlando, a writer at Travelbite.co.uk has recently given some advice on where couples may want to head along to.

Some of the sites recommended in the region included The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art and the Harry P Leu Gardens.
