Holiday in Florida 'is a bird watcher's paradise'
Those who love to go bird watching and seek some of the world's most fascinating species have been advised a holiday in Florida may be perfect for them.
The Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau claims the Sunshine State – and in particular Polk County – is home to some beautiful birds.
Indeed, some of the top spots are part of the famous Great Florida Birding Trail, which tourists could allocate some of their time to following.
People are invited to take a bike out into the beautiful countryside and witness a bald eagle fly overhead, or relax to the song of a whippoorwill.
It goes on to note another possibility is a crane being spotted through the lens of a pair of binoculars.
Such fun can be had even before visitors get started on tracking down some of their favourite non-feathered friends, with creatures such as alligators and bob cats among the famous Florida animals.
Bob Atkinson, a travel analyst at travelsupermarket.com, recently suggested holidays in Florida will be in trend in 2011.
