Have fun on the farm on a Florida holiday

Families enjoying Florida villa holidays can take a break from the excitement of the theme parks and head to Kissimmee for a different day out.

Here, they can visit the Green Meadows petting farm, where children can make friends with a variety of furry animals.

As well a letting youngsters cuddle the cute critters, the farm's owners also run an educational programme for visitors.

Children will be able to learn about the animals they see at the park, which include pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and donkeys.

Of course Elmer the Asian water buffalo is bound to be the star attraction.

Youngsters will also be able to enjoy pony treks, milk their own cows, take a ride on a tractor and travel on a miniature train.

Drinks and snacks are available at the farm or families can bring their own lunch to enjoy in the dedicated picnic areas.

Kissimmee is a city in Florida's Osceola County and the Green Meadows petting farm is located on South Poinciana Boulevard.

Families hoping to visit to see the animals could rent an Orlando villa in Aviana, which is just south of Kissimmee.

It is also just 12 miles from Disney World and not far from some of the other main attractions, while several world class golf courses can also be found within easy reach.
