Follow in the Obamas' footsteps with a Florida holiday
Britons looking for holiday inspiration may want to consider booking a Florida villa on the Gulf Coast.
The Obamas spent the past weekend holidaying in the area, where they went swimming, sampled the local seafood and took in a round of mini golf, according to the Washington Post.
US president Barack Obama was pictured swimming in the sea with his daughter Sasha, while the family also met a playful porpoise while on a boat trip in the region.
Roger Dow, president and chief executive of the US Travel Association, said of the trip: "This is a major step in promoting travel to the region."
Britons wanting to book villa accommodation along Florida's Gulf Coast might want to check out the offerings in New Port Richey, Anna Maria Island and Fort Myers.
Florida villas can also be found on Marco Island - close to the popular Everglades National Park - as well as in the Disneyworld resort and near Universal Studios.
