Florida villa occupants set to enjoy Avatar-themed attraction

Parents who are interested in booking up Florida villas to take their children along to Walt Disney World Resort may be interested to hear of a new attraction which may be coming to one of the site's parks.

It has been announced that an Avatar-themed space is to be built at the resort's Animal Kingdom, so that the exotic land of Pandora can be brought to life.

To get the development off the ground, the Walt Disney Company is hoping to work with the film's director James Cameron.

Robert A Iger, president and chief executive of The Walt Disney Company, commented: "With this agreement, we have the extraordinary opportunity to combine James' talent and vision with the imagination and expertise of Disney."

The chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Tom Staggs, also inputted his thoughts about the attraction, explaining: "Avatar is just a set of worlds that is really rich and offers so much to explore".

Since its release in December 2009, Avatar has grossed over $2.7 billion (£1.72 billion) around the world.
