Florida 'is the perfect family destination'

Florida holidays have been described as offering the perfect mix of entertainment for adults and children looking to enjoy entertainment outside of just sitting on a beach.

The Belfast Telegraph reports how the US state is the "ultimate family destination", as there are "hundreds" of activities to keep everyone captivated.

Disney World offers children the chance to meet Mickey Mouse, while SeaWorld is home to the famous killer whale Shamu.

Other theme parks provide the opportunity to walk around film sets and see native alligators living in the wild.

It was suggested the warm temperatures and year-round sun make the climate "amazing", while the scenery is "stunning".

Families planning a holiday in Florida may want to explore Legoland, which will this year celebrate the Fourth of July with special themed events.

On Independence Day, the park is set to host a Red, Brick and Boom evening that will include a large fireworks display.
