As the colder months rapidly descend upon the UK and the rest of Europe, people will look towards destinations like Florida as ideal for a winter holiday.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, says the Sunshine State is a "massive" spot for sun seekers during November and December.
"October onwards you start to change from what is summer type [holidays], so the emphasis moves away from the Mediterranean," he notes.
And it moves very firmly on to areas such as Florida, where warmth, beautiful beaches and a rich variety of entertainment lure visitors from around the world.
In particular, the chance to enjoy some of the planet's top theme parks is a reason for many booking a holiday in Florida.
The state may appeal to even more people this year, with recent research by Tesco Bank revealing some 46 per cent of British adults are planning to make the most of reduced holiday prices by heading abroad in the last three months of 2010.
