Florida holidays 'can offer good value for money'
Britons taking breaks in the US, such as Florida villa holidays, will enjoy better value for money than they are used to at home, according to a travel industry expert.
Frances Tuke, a spokeswoman for Abta - The Travel Association, pointed out that the cost of living is relatively high in the UK, meaning that most overseas destinations are cheaper for British holiday makers in terms of day-to-day spending.
This is true even in established tourist destinations like the US, despite the fact that the pound has lost some of its value against foreign currencies recently, according to Ms Tuke.
"Pretty much every destination is good for us because the quality [and] the price of living is cheaper," she said.
"Even if you are talking about the States, that tends to be good value for money."
Britons planning a Florida villa holiday this year can arrange accommodation in a number of popular destinations along the state's Gulf Coast.
The region is home to locations such as Marco Island, Naples, Fort Myers and Rotonda, all of which offer a range of sights, experiences and activities for visitors to enjoy.
