Florida holiday makers can get some cheap winter sun
As the winter begins to take hold in the UK, holiday makers heading to Florida will be able to take advantage of some cheap deals.
With the Med shutting down for the winter and the ski season yet to start in earnest, there are a lot of deals to be had by heading further afield, with Florida one example of a popular destination.
Nick Trend, a travel expert writing for the Guardian, said that travelling to the US over the Thanksgiving weekend is particularly cost effective.
He explained that the climate in Florida and the southern states in general is much more pleasant for sightseeing than in the summer months.
As fewer people are looking to head away there are fewer visitors and villas in Florida are better value.
Holiday makers looking ahead to next year may be interested to hear that Lonely Planet has included the Florida resort of Orlando in its Best In Travel 2012 guide.
