Florida holiday 'is perfect for water sports'

Fans of water sports may find no better option when it comes to choosing a vacation than a holiday in Florida.

The Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau explains the Polk County area is particularly suitable for those looking to surf, sail or swim.

According to the organisation, water sports are "abundant" in the region, with USA Water Ski – the country's official federation for the pursuit – basing itself there.

In total, there are 554 lakes to choose from, with many offering the potential to enjoy countless activities.

And when people on holiday in Florida have had enough of visiting top-quality lakes, they may be tempted by a trip to the Water Ski Hall of Fame and Museum, which can be found in Polk City.

Travelsupermarket.com recently suggested breaks in the US – including those in Florida – are likely to be very much in trend with keen travellers during the next 12 months.
