Florida holiday 'is ideal for golfers'
Golfers may find all they dream of when taking a holiday in Florida, if one travel organisation is to be believed.
The Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau suggests the Sunshine State has a "superb reputation" for hosting the sport, with more than 40 top courses to choose from.
This means there are in excess of 500 holes to be played in the area, including those at championship courses Southern Dunes, The Club at Eaglebrook and Ridgewood Lakes.
All of these courses are within a 50-mile radius of Polk County, located in the heart of the state.
According to the tourism board, many of the world's other finest golf destinations "can't touch" a holiday in Florida when it comes to picking up a set of clubs and enjoying 18 holes.
Bob Atkinson, an industry expert at travelsupermarket.com, recently suggested vacations in the US will be very much in trend during 2011.
