Florida events to mark Black History Month

Tourists wanting to immerse themselves in culture while on a trip to Florida in February may wish to attend some of the festivities that are being held to mark Black History Month.

In an article for the Yahoo! Contributor Network, Savah Karimi explained numerous events are taking place over the course of the month, with the city of Orlando teaming up with the Orlando Magic basketball team to offer several attractions.

These include an African-American storytelling event, which will be held at the City Hall Rotunda on February 21st.

Elsewhere, the tenth annual Florida African-American Heritage Celebration will be held in Largo, offering live music, dancing, historical exhibitions and art showings, as well as the chance to take a free tour of attractions like the Gulf Coast Museum of Art and the Florida Botanical Gardens and try out some ethnic food.

If a visit to the Museum of Art is of interest, tourists might also want to head along to the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival, which will take place in Palm Beach County from February 19th-21st.
