Flight searches for Florida holidays on the increase

Britons are conducting more web searches for flights for Florida holidays compared with last year, according to new figures.

Statistics from Cheapflights.co.uk show that seven of the 75 fastest-growing queries relating to flights to North America are accounted for by destinations in Florida.

Tampa has seen a 37 per cent year-on-year rise in searches, followed by Jacksonville with 35 per cent, Fort Lauderdale at 34 per cent and Fort Myers on 33 per cent.

Nadine Hallak, travel expert for Cheapflights.co.uk, said the figures show warm destinations are particularly popular this year.

She added: "Travellers are looking to take slightly longer breaks that still have cost-saving benefits. So where better to head than long-haul destinations for a truly relaxing holiday where sunshine is guaranteed?"

Britons looking to travel to Florida may want to look into Fort Myers villas for a relaxing holiday in the sun without the hassle associated with staying in a standard hotel.

Other villas in Florida can be found in Naples, Captiva, Sanibel and Anna Maria Island.
