Explore green trails on Florida holiday with website

A new website has been launched to detail more than 100 of the best rural routes and greenways in Florida, which could be of great use to those planning a holiday there.

VISIT FLORIDA, the Sunshine State's official tourism authority, is behind the new online portal.

As well as details on all of the picturesque walks and trails, the website offers visitors the chance to compare selected paths.

Will Seccombe, chief marketing officer at the organisation, says many people on holiday in Florida are showing an interest in outdoor adventures.

He adds the web-based advice centre will help people from around the world in their bid to explore the "hiking, biking, paddling and equestrian opportunities" to be found in the state.

People who use the tool can search for routes based around the city they are staying in, the activities on offer nearby as well as its length and difficulty.

Allison Mitchell, speaking recently on behalf of the Orlando Tourism Bureau, said it would require a holiday lasting 67 days to enjoy all the attractions in the city.
