Check out the Reef Fest on a Florida villa holiday

People enjoying Florida villa holidays this summer might be interested in paying a visit to the island of Key Largo to attend a popular annual event.

The Key Largo Reef Fest will bring six days of fun and entertainment to the popular location in the Florida Keys from June 5th to 10th.

It is arranged as a celebration of the island's coral reefs and shipwrecks, which attract high numbers of scuba divers and snorkellers to the destination every year.

Holiday makers on Florida villa breaks can pay a visit to Key Largo to take part in a number of activities and events, including underwater photography competitions, treasure hunts and seminars on the preservation and rebuilding of coral reefs.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to try some local cuisine, with a number of restaurants and cafes set to take part in the festival by offering special promotions.

People staying in Gulf Coast villas during their Florida holiday can visit one of Key Largo's neighbouring islands, Key West, by taking a ferry from Fort Myers.

Visitors can also hire a car and drive across US Highway 1 to get to the Florida Keys.
