Check out Star Trek Live on a Florida villa holiday

Florida villa holidays could prove popular among Star Trek fans this year, with a new interactive show based on the sci-fi franchise set to open at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Star Trek Live will be presented by CBS Consumer Products and Mad Science Productions at the attraction from June 11th.

People who are able to see the show during a Florida villa holiday will be taken on a 30-minute journey featuring a variety of special effects, interactive elements and information on real space-age technology.

Liz Kalodner, executive vice president of CBS Consumer Products, said: "The Kennedy Space Center has captured the world's attention and fed its imagination for the farthest reaches of outer space, and for that reason alone we can't think of a better destination to launch Star Trek Live.

"This show offers all the excitement, ingenuity and of course logic, that Star Trek fans have come to expect with an added bonus of learning something along the way."

Holiday makers planning a Florida villa break this year will be able to choose from five daily presentations of the show at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which is located just 45 minutes east of Orlando.
