Travellers planning Florida villa holidays this summer have been encouraged to take the opportunity to see Daytona Beach.

The town boasts a range of colourful characteristics that visitors can get to know during their break, including strong links with stock-car racing and motorbike riding.

Writing in the Telegraph, Julie Compton revealed that she has been in love with Daytona Beach since she first visited 27 years ago, so much so that she purchased a second home there.

Holiday makers staying in Orlando villas can arrange a day trip to the destination to stroll along its boardwalk, visit the arcades and sit down for a meal or a drink in one of the local restaurants or bars.

People who will be visiting the town for the first time were encouraged by Ms Compton to see the racing circuit for which it is famous.

Members of the public can take tours of the Daytona International Speedway and will even be given the opportunity to drive a race car.

Visitors planning to stay in Orlando during their Florida villa holiday can explore some of the city's famous theme parks, such as the Walt Disney World Resort.
