For sports lovers taking an Orlando villa holiday, a trip to see the Orlando Magic could make for an early Christmas present this December.

The NBA basketball team is one of the nation's best-loved franchises and will be looking to do well in the 2009-10 season.

Star players Dwight Howard, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson will be bringing the magic to the court next month, as Orlando welcome the likes of the Indiana Pacers, the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics to the Amway Arena.

The team are well placed in the standings at present, occupying second position in the south-east division of the Eastern Conference behind leaders Atlanta Hawks.

They are also fourth in the overall conference standings and will be hoping for a strong month as they look to hold on to a qualifying berth for the NBA Playoffs despite pressure from the chasing pack.

Hardly surprising for a team based in Florida, the Orlando Magic have always known how to put on a show and enjoy a successful franchise history, having won the Eastern conference title twice since being founded in 1989, but never going on to win the NBA Championship.
